One man's junk is another man's treasure

I'm sure a homeless person or a junkie has this cart right now. I found it in an alley next to Tony's Finer Foods.

Today was a disaster for the most part. I had this photography project for my Image Design for Cinema class, and I braved the cold this morning to take some shots in Grant Park. I had thought about this project for a while and I even had a list of the shots I was planning on taking. Well, I went and took some pretty amazing pictures. I was so excited and I couldn't wait to show them to my class.

Well, as luck would have it, the manual rewind crank (or whatever it's called) on the SLR camera I borrowed from my school was screwy and the film ended up getting torn in half. I was so, so, so very upset. I ended up using the last roll of film (which is supposed to be for the next project) to take some half-assed photos at Nate's warehouse. Ugh. Maybe I should go back to Grant Park and take the same photos again with my point-and-shoot, but they wouldn't be half as good as if I took them with the SLR camera. My teacher will probably think I'm a slacker (if she hasn't already -- I've missed a few classes so far... yikes!)

After the camera tragedy (yes, it was a tragedy!) I went back to school and edited my Production II film for a while. I collected all the sounds, which were labeled, at the sound library and brought them down to the editing lab. When I opened the sound CD, none of the sounds were labeled! Instead, they were called "Track 1", "Track 2", and so on. I was so, so, so very miffed. It may be a trivial situation to some of you, but I'm hard-of-hearing so it's difficult for me to decipher the difference between two similar sounds. For example, I have one soundtrack of general ambience at a laundromat and another soundtrack of general ambience at a hotel lobby. Unless I have the volume up all the way, I can't figure out which sound is which. Aghh.

Yeah, I don't have real problems. It's just that I'm overwhelmed with a lot of school projects and such. Know what's crazy? I kind of like being this busy.
