Peru Day 1: "Left a bit"
This is the first of the backblips from my Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising trek along the Inca trail. Please don't feel obliged to read the text, it's mostly here to remind me what happened each day.
I'm kicking myself for not taking the DSLR as the photos are really very average. Having said that, most of the DSLRs I saw on the trip came back with bits missing/broken.
So.....
- Up at 3.30am to get to Heathrow to meet the others
- a 2 and a bit hour flight to Madrid
- a 12 hour flight from Madrid to Lima
- somewhat interesting drive through the shithole delightful city of Lima
- a slightly dubious-looking hotel that offered a view of a concrete wall but had a good, hot shower.
- first encounter with Inca Kola
Not an interesting day for photos - this was taken as we waited to take off from Madrid. First time I've been on a plane with a tail camera before and it was both interesting and disconcerting to watch yourself taxi and take-off - especially when Sharon who I was sat next to and I were concerned that the pilot was off to the right a bit when we started to speed up on the runway.
Oh and how rubbish is The Green Hornet? You know a film must be bad when it's the only option available to you and you still can't watch it. Dear goodness it was drivel.
