Sunrise
So, this was meant to be the ultimate highlight of my trip. 1,900m up Huangshan Mountain at 5.15am watching the sun rise above the mountains. Sadly, it wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped for, and certainly no good colours to pick out. My camera has also proved it doesn't have the capability that my LX3 had in low light.
So a little later (about 15 minutes) having moved to a different hill so that I wasn't being squashed from all four directions by Chinese tourists, I caught the sun stick his head out. Good morning, Thursday 19th May.
Incidentally, the official sunrise time on the mountain was only 10 minutes after it had officially set in Birmingham, UK...
