Polyps
I headed over to see N (formally known as IBF) today and we went for a couple of dives in Loch Long. We both had new bits of kit to test out so we just wanted easy shore diving. There was a definite increase in marine life now the water i 'warming' up (it was about 10 deg C today) so I took lots of piccies.
I had trouble deciding on what to blip today but eventually decided on these. They are the polyps of a soft coral called Dead Men's Fingers. Each polyp is an individual animal in the coral colony.
N found a hole in the wrist seal of his drysuit and on the way out of the water on our second dive, he sliced a hole in his boot on a sharp rock :-(
We had a cuppa at The Green Kettle Inn near Garelochhead and then took the scenic trip home. It was a lovely day out :-)
