Stingray Shoes.

This shoe is made from the skin of a Stingray.
It is for sale in a shop on our high street in Uppingham. They have the most beautiful hand made shoes. I see parcels leaving there for all parts of the world, but particularly Japan.
I asked the owner if the earthquake had effected sales. He said things stopped for a week, then carried on as usual.
After taking this photo today I helped him stuff an enormous box of shoes into the back of his car. They were off to Japan.

Recession, not everywhere it seems. These shoes cost hundreds. I know, as I hand wrote all the price signs for the shop, in silver ink, on cocoa coloured card.
