Circle of the Seasons

Teamwork

The male starling who was advertising for a housemate here obviously did find a wife, because for several days they have been darting in and out of the hole in the peak of the barn roof with all kinds of icky wriggling things dangling from their beaks!

When they both leave, I can hear the faint "peep peep peep" of their brood, demanding MORE FOOD.

It takes both of them working all day long to satisfy the children.

Isn't that the way it usually goes?

This is why the Goddess didn't make us hermaphrodites, I suppose.
