Setting you right

The Edinburgh round of the European Youth Climbing series is under way.

Today was the heats of the difficulty climbing. Yesterday evening was the same for the speed climbing. All of the finals fall tomorrow.

It was a late night for some on Friday night, setting out the holds to be climbed today. Here, the Audrey (MD at the Castle Climbing centre, but a judge for the day) gets her head together with the route-setters to make sure that she understand the route that has been set, and so will score the climbers correctly.

I only got to take a few shots today, like this one, early on. During the climbing I was on the "other" end of the climbing ropes, belaying for the Youth B Girls category. There were 32 climbers in the category, each climbing twice - belaying 64 routes in one day is plenty for me. So right now, it's high time to get in a hot shower and loosen off the neck!
