Mister Sandman . . .

Yesterday was great! A good friend and I met in London as an early birthday celebration for my 30th and we had a ball. Pimms in the sunshine on the South Bank, wandering and people watching, pizza and tiramusu . . .

In the evening we went to the Coliseum on St Martins Lane to see a Benjamin Britten adaptation of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' which was just lovely. My first opera experience and definitely not my last!

I took my new compact out with me, but was rather annoyed with myself to find that I'd forgotten to charge the battery. So, there were limited shots to choose from. One little bit of the bank of the Thames has been made into a mini beach, and these guys were entertaining the passers-by with some 'sand art'.
