Ruined
Another day another ruin.
This one is in Tulum, and is famed for the way it hangs imposingly atop a cliff above the sea.
It's believed much of the area was primarily a fortress, as the ancient Mayans often sailed up and down the coast - even as far down as Belize - trading, fighting and the like.
Whilst not considered a particularly stunning example of the architecture of the time, its location is second to none. This can't be said for my photography skills however, failing miserably to get a good shot of the ruins backed by the bright blue sea beyond.
Tomorrow we'll head to a beach cabana for a few days, a one-off splurge for Lucy's birthday.
