What to blip?
I went into the woods across the road for a walk with Little Big Girl this morning. I also took the camera and tripod. I got some pics of the stream and the trees and LBG playing by the water.
When it came to checking out the photos on the computer and picking a few to edit I found that even though I felt the one I had of LBG was the one I should blip it was by far not the best shot. So again I came across the "What to blip?" "Why do I blip?" questions. Blip is a place to keep you taking photos everyday to improve your photography, its a place to show your best photos and also a journal. I guess the decision of what to blip is made between those different things on a day by day basis.
For todays blip the journal wins out. Its is the first time I have taken LBG into the woods on such a "pathless trail"... When we first stepped past the wooden rail and squelched onto the mud of the trail she told me she wanted to back and didnt want to walk here. When I asked she said she wanted to walk on a path. Ah, so I really do need to get her out into woods and other wilder areas more. It seems we have only taken her to state parks with nice dry trails wide enough to probably drive a car on. So we have only really walked with through a gap in nature and had her actually in it. That must change. Having grown up playing in the local stream, woods and fields I forget how unusual it must seem.
When we got about 50ft in I realized she was looking around her rather apprehensively. WHen I asked her what was wrong she said she was looking for bears. I eased her fears by telling that we dont have any around here even though I knew that in the direction she was looking 200ft away this video was taken by a neighbhour. She soon got into things... she gasped as a frog hopped away in front of us and we watched sit in the stream. A little further on we saw fish in the stream in several spots. Of course when she got and my wife asked her what she had seen she said "Rocks, sticks, branches and logs"
