Perspective

This is The Grotto, set on a hill overlooking north Portland: sweet-smelling seventy-five-year-old gardens and chapels, with enormous fir trees, with rhododendrons now in bloom, with niches and shrines and religious statuary, a monastery and a peace obelisk, serene and stately. So the challenge for me today was how to get a sense of the beauty of the place without shooting flowers, statues, and shrines. I tried to look with fresh eyes, and my eyes fell in love with the glass wall at the front of the large chapel at the top of the hill.

My friends Stephie and Marion went with me, and Marion and I walked the Labyrinth, a replica of the one at Chartres. Mesmerizing. Was tempted to Blip the labyrinth, but no. Too symmetrical.

After uploading, the lines which were so pure and perfect on my computer appear to be over-sharpened on Blip. I changed my settings to avoid automatic sharpening, but I think there is some change taking place between my computer and Blip. If you see wavy lines or twisted lines, that's not how it's supposed to be.
