what is it?

yes, a caterpillar - i know. but haven't been able to identify it. lots of recommendations for a site called whatsthatcaterpillar.co.uk but it won't load. so any knowledgable folk out there?

further along the crinan canal path, there was a caterpillar of a tiger moth rushing across my path!

i'd just been to find the stone with the neolothic carved left hands. of course i fitted my own, not very ladylike, paws in & was interested to find that they fitted perfectly, except that the pinkies of each carved hand were a good half centimeter larger than mine. i gues the carver(s) were right handed....
