Hyperdub

A quick Monday blip, it's the first day of the week and I've got nothing to say.

Hyperdub is one of the key dubstep labels, due in no small part to being the home of Burial. It's run by Kode9 who as well as owning the label and releasing his own stuff (often with the slightly annoying Spaceape), is an academic in the field of sound theory and therefore gives some impenetrable interviews (an example). I'd say the label focuses more on the hazy late night (slightly darker) style of dubstep and not that thumping wobbly bass stuff that quickly grates. If you're at all interested in dubstep then the Five Years of Hyperdub compilation is as good a place to start as any, here's a track from that by Darkstar.
