Nostalgie für das osten.......

.....nostalgia for the old ways of the GDR has resulted in some of the icons of communism becoming, well, icons. This is Ampleman, the green crossing light character on the lights in most of former East Berlin....I like his style.

Today was just lovely; great weather, interesting and engaging sightseeing and a t'riffic meal in a restaurant under the arches of the Hackesche Hoff station at night. Perfecto.

Now, what's this about all flights to Scotland being cancelled by an ash cloud tomorrow? Do you mean I've got to stay longer in Berlin than planned?...what a chore that'll be.
