St. Jean Maurienne to Janslebourg Mont-Cenis

This is the base of the pass through the Alps. I arrived here after my first night camping outside, under a pretty mountain by a river, exhausted after a long day and another broken chain. I slept early in Janslebourg (sp?) after eating a yummy dinner: almond-crusted trout and goat cheese salad. I had a surprise phone call in the night which gave me courage for the mountain pass and also reminded me that I was hungry. So I ate a power bar and went back to sleep. I think this really helped the next morning.
