A mouse's tale
Something has been nibbling its way into my bird food containers in the shed. Suspecting a mouse / mice, I got a humane mousetrap and baited it with peanut butter. Several weeks on, today, on opening the shed door, I saw this little mite looking fairly comfortable in his little cage, the peanut butter, obviously sustaining him. I decided the best option was to release him into the cemetery - plenty of little hidey holes for a field mouse there. He was obviously a little traumatised by the journey, and froze briefly, allowing me to get this shot, before disappearing into the undergrowth. His short stubby tail betrayed the fact that he may well have had a narrow escape from one of the many cats which patrol our garden.
