Carpets of Thrift

Up early as sun forecasted for the morning. Back to Melon Udrigle where we walked up a track parallel to the coast to reach the cairn with views back to the beach and the mountains to the east.
Walked back and took another track towards the north coast. It was low tide so we were able to pick our way across the river coming from Loch Allt. On the river bed there were masses and masses of thrift, quite a sight. From here we picked up a track to take us back to where we left the car.
It was worth getting up early, some sunshine and less wind made our last day pleasurable. Rain later in the afternoon which didn't matter so much as we were packing up.
