Today my work takes me back and forth across the local airfield, mixing it with gliders and the odd tug plane.It is today a play ground for the well off, it was built to protect the nation, the home of 102 and 405 squadrons of the RAF. There is a neatly kept tribute to the men of that time to remind us that our leasure and pleasure time was hard won.
