Chicago River
Sunday...took the train downtown with one of my photog friends. She was meeting with a client about an upcoming wedding shoot. I went along for the ride, and of course the opportunity to hang out in the city for a little street photography.
We had breakfast at Lou Mitchells just a block from Union Station. Fantastic food and service considering the crowd. The line of people waiting for tables extended out the restaurant doors and down the sidewalk. Our train was late and the client stood in line. By the time we arrived...he was at the front of the line. Lucky us!
After the meeting we headed towards the Lake. We made it about 2 blocks of our mile walk before the rain came. We ducked into the corner McDonalds and took up residence at a table to wait it out. We watched the weather map on our cell phones and determined we had a 15 minute window to make it back to Union Station before the major storm rolled in. So, that was that. Back to the train and back home by lunchtime.
Oh well, next time!
