HAND OF MAN
There are a couple of things about this image -
the first is the Post which the bird is pictured on. In days gone by this picture, if entered in a " Natural History " competition would not be acceptable as the " hand of man " is evident - This is not acceptable when recording the Natural History of a subject.
The other thing is the shape of this Kingfishers beak. I watched it catching its food. It swooped down ( from the post) and scooped its beak along the sand, grabbing a crab. It seemed a great design to me for this purpose. if it was square it might get stuck in the mud.
