Last of the Grape Leaves.

FInal leaf off the vine. Actually it was a young vine which had only just started to fruit this year and was spectacular in its abundance. The trouble now is that after nurturing it over recent times, we will now have to dig it all out as the house will no doubt have to be removed through the fence area where this plant is living. It is a side issue when your house is destroyed but also one which causes more loss. We think we will lose 8 large trees which are mostly trained and topiary shaped and have been a constant work of attention and love for a long time. Also some very ancient roses which grow up the side of the house, which even though their walls fell off, the plant just bent over and continued to flower amongst the piles of bricks. There is also about 50m of buxus hedging, 10 rose plants, many lavenders and I cant think how many bulbs have been planted which all live under the demo zone. We are training ourselves to let go...
