There will be bugs!

... is what I said to someone on twitter when he asked about my new lens. This 2 spotted ladybird was on my golden hop - it is always covered in all types. Last year, I took part in the Harlequin Ladybird Survey, and I can see there are going to be plenty of those again this year. The 2 and 7 spotted seemed to hold their own in my garden at least despite fears that the invading species would have an adverse effect. I'll probably give it a month or so, and then submit some records for this year. Here are some 2 and 4 spots from last year and here is a harlequin with larva.
