Grand Prix

We were given some tickets to go to watch some international show jumping today. The Grand Prix was won by a Brit - Nick Skelton on Carlo, who is a particularly beautiful horse. We saw him as we walked in when he was still in his stable and we liked him straight away. So it was very nice that he won. This blip isn't him though, it's just my favourite of the many many shots I took today.

And, back to the rain....a sudden and wild storm lead to a sudden halt in proceedings as everyone ran for shelter. I decided to run for it with the children quite early on as I had had enough of rain for one weekend! We were lucky as it meant we hardly got wet and found a good place to shelter from the wind and hail. Others weren't quite so lucky and went home dripping and shivering. We went back to watch more and the weather got so nice we all ended up with sunburn!

I don't know very much about horses or show-jumping but we all really enjoyed it - and now we know more than we did, that's for sure.

Next time we go we'll take sunhats, sun cream, a picnic blanket, raincoats and umbrellas, wellies and sandals...whatever, we'll certainly go again!!

by the way, I back-blipped....
