XJ Day #3: "Enough Fooling Around"

The bus ride from Hotan to Kashgar hugs the western end of the Taklamakan and takes about 9 hours to complete. That is if the bus you're riding can actually make the journey, unlike ours!

At this checkpoint in Lok Xiang, YeCheng county (4 hours in), the driver slowed down to stop and the bus never moved forward again. After 3 hours of waiting on the roadside, the drivers finally figured out how to piggy back all 36 passengers on other buses and up to Kashgar by 2am.

At least this little one had some fun playing keep away :) AND it was a nice reminder of how flaky plans can be.
