New Mexico to Oregon Day 2

This is the treacherous climb to Alcove house, which is a huge alcove, near the top of a cliff, where the Indians built their dwellings and lived, 700 years ago. You have to negotiate four tall ladders and several flights of narrow steps to get there. On the way back down, a woman below me on the first ladder, panicked and froze up, creating quite a traffic jam. It took a bit working on breathing, focusing on the ladder rungs, not looking down, etc, to talk her down the four ladders to the bottom.
