Remembering

I was walking away from where I was working this morning and this memorial caught my eye. I've blipped the larger one in the background before, but I hadn't noticed the smaller, more recent memorial to the fallen of the Falklands conflict.

My trusty iPhone doesn't do it justice - it's a simple, elegant and moving tribute to a horrifyingly large number of service personnel from a number of different forces.

I find it poignant that it is set up in the shadow of the larger memorial; a testament to the fact that we might decide to remember, but we often don't learn.
