Cygnet Preening
Back on the 10th of May I blipped a family of swans taking one of their early trips along the pond. I'm happy to report that all the cygnets have survived and are thriving and it's quite something to see how jealously they are guarded by their parents. Even the ducks are kept away with sudden great splashy rushes and much flapping of wings. Never mind that the cygnets are pretty well the same size as the mallards by now and could probably look after thamselved quite well. Mother and father know best and don't ;et anything near their precious brood.
Here, one of the little guys does a little preening, putting his feathers back in good order before re-entering the water.
Tomorrow will be an important day. One of the benefite of being unemployed this last year and a bit has been the time I have had to indulge in blipping and commenting. Tomorrow I have an interview for a job which I really WANT and amazingly, for which I am reasonably well qualified. Fingers crossed! I don't want to lose blipping time but I sure NEED this job. More tomorrow.
