The Cavalry Are Here

And I'm supposed to be sleeping!!

But I'm not... but at least I've not done too much today though. I hope. My challenge: To sleep more, to re-build energy levels, and to learn how to pace myself. Tough challenge with an over-active toddler around.

Mum arrived last night just as I was putting Ben's moisturiser on after his bath.

Ben went HYPER. (But at least his first thought wasn't "drums". Praise the Lord for small mercies!) So a 9 o'clock bedtime turned into an 11 o'clock bedtime after Ben had to show Grandma everything.

Anyway, after Ben didn't want to say goodnight to Grandma ("Ben say night-night in morning"), he was too scared to go in and say good morning this morning. Four times he went in, and 3 times he came back and said Grandma sleeping - the fourth time she was still asleep and he came back and said he was scared!!

Since then he's had a blast. Toddler group this morning after porridge for breakfast (uh-oh - this could mean I have to make porridge more often) and then lunch and then mum asked if I'd like the grass cutting. Would I like the grass cutting?!! Yes please!

So I never got my nap, and I did a little bit of weeding, and we hung the washing out (in the Strong Breeze), and mum cut the grass, and Ben put his ear defenders on because he dislikes any noise not made by himself, and then after a sit down and a piece of cake mum went to the shop and the moment the door shut Ben burst into tears.

He didn't get to say 'bye! So we had a cuddle while we waited for mum to get back. And then I finally managed to get the presents for my niece and nephews wrapped in brown paper and mum went off to the post office. (And Ben said 'bye this time and so tears were averted.) It's finally posted!!!! Thankyou mum :)

And now because Ben hasn't had a sleep today, after a very very late night, he is very tired and wants to go to sleep but he can't until we've had some tea and please please Steve don't be late home tonight.......
