Day 7 - Picos de Europa Tour Pt 1

Well this is more like it, settled in a hotel room with wi-fi! We've taken a beautiful, dramatic drive through mountain passes and limestone gorges today to the south and west of the Picos and abandoned the tent for a night. We're in the Hotel Santa Cruz, Cangas de Onis.

As you can see from the blip, it gets pretty wild out in the Picos, and bears are not uncommon. Vertiginous mountain passes, bears, vultures and cable cars - great!

We still have to adapt to the Spanish food culture and learn to eat at lunchtime. We arrived here at 3.00 pm, which is still lunchtime, but dawdled too much and ended up with only a bottle of sidra (cidre) and cakes. Now I feel a bit sick and have to wait until 9.00 pm for dinner :(
