Poppies
This is a sight that used to be common then stopped being common but is now becoming more common, a crop field full of poppies. Crops are normally heavily sprayed with herbicides nowadays but the poppies are starting to become resistant. You can't keep a good poppy down.
Farmed fields are perfect for poppies to grow in as they like disturbed soil and the ploughing and sowing that goes on encourages them to grow. Of course you can't disturb soil much more efficiently than blowing and digging it up during a war which is how the poppy has come to be associated with WW1 and the poppy appeal.
