Sunrise at Horizon
This place has really got under my skin.
From the moment I arrived at Horizon, I felt welcome. Travelling alone can be daunting, and although my love of horses always provides a common interest, some places just make you feel like you're in a second home.
The lake was just a stone's throw from my little thatched round-house and the South African winter weather meant for frosty, misty mornings that were just beautiful. During the day this place is busy - horses coming and going, the local guys singing and shouting to each other in their native tongue, clattering from the kitchen . . .
I got up early this morning to watch the sunrise and was enchanted by the birds, the lake, the smell of the air and the sound of the hippos chatting to each other and rustling the reeds just along from where I was crouched with my tripod.
To me, this is what dreams are made of.
