Diamonds and Rust

Blue Creek

I had a business meeting with a work colleague (and friend) this afternoon and we thought we may as well do it over a pot of tea and cake in the Blue Creek, one of Aber's most convivial cafes. (It was pretty empty this afternoon but it's usually bustling).

At the start of the day I was due to take the camper van for its MOT but it wouldn't start, even rolling it down the hill. Eventually I had to call the AA who diagnosed a failed fuel pump and I had to be towed to the garage. Walked back with Madge (the little dog) via Llanbadarn, up to the university campus, and through Penglais wooda, in the beautiful morning sunshine.

And this evening planted up some pots in the garden and then supper whilst watching Springwatch on the telly. (Springwatch annoys me as a botanist because they mostly completely ignore plants. They were due to have a piece on the Ynyslas orchids tonight ut that got dropped so it was the usual badgers, foxes, baby birds etc.)

Then back to work till bedtime, listening to this song by the best songwriter of the last 40 years.
