Rain Rain GO AWAY!

Today is "suppose" to be field day at the boys school. The kids all look forward to this day as it's always a lot of fun and also marks the end of the school year. My dear friend and PTA buddy planned this entire event on her own this year. Revamped it, bought all new materials and had a plan to make it even more exciting than ever. That was until we all woke to RAIN this morning. It had started raining last night and didn't let up. Everything was soaked and the fields were in muddy, mucky condition making it too dangerous and messy to have any activities on it. So we made the official call to CANCEL field day.

However, after canceling my dear friend who's heart was broken after all the work she put into this and she didn't want to let the kids down, decided to quickly revamp it. We all scurried to block off the parking lot and set up some revised activity stations and let the kids come out and play. They never knew the difference and all the kiddo's had huge smiles on their faces. It was a fun day and we pulled it off!!!!

This picture is what I woke up to the morning of Field Day. You can see why we originally made the call to cancel it. This is a field that is behind our backyard. All the grass was heavy and laying down as were the tree branches from all the rain we had over night.
