soooooo.....
I haven't really posted any pictures of people (other than the babies) since I started this malarky. But, tonight is as good a night as any...
I am just home from a very enjoyable evening of listening and talking. This picture was taken in the National Gallery of Scotland, and the figure in the centre background that you can just see is the artist Judy Chicago.
Judy Chicago is one of the pioneers of feminist art and a crucial figure in recent art history. I am very happy to have spent a couple of hours listening to her talking and at times like this I am energised and delighted by the decisions that I have made in terms of my 'career'. I shall at another time bombard you with ludicrous facts with regards to the statistics of women and art (collections, selling etc.)
Anyway, I bought two books which JS signed with personal inscriptions: One for my mum (who took me to see 'The Dinner Party' when I was 12) and one for Alice (Judy Chicago's latest book on Frida Kahlo) This last one is a bit of a sneaky move as I shall have to 'look after' this book until Alice will appreciate it when she's about hmmm 21?.....
