These are two of Rudy's guardian sharks. There are lots and lots who swim him safely to school every day. Tonight they livened up my very wet and very cold walk home from my German class.

Today was sports day, Rudy's first ever sports day. And I missed it - I shall not dwell on the guilt and the the thoughts that I have regularly about everything I miss because I work. No, I shall not dwell tonight.

Anyway, Chris did make it and was one of a few parent helpers. Rudy was delighted and afterwards delighted in telling me that

"Daddy had helped watch and decide and judge all the races" and with even greater delight and no sense of the possible implications went on to say that he "had won quite a lot of everything"

And just in case you are wondering - Chris would never be so unprofessional....
