Many people in Edinburgh think that the city's affectionate name refers to the smell of the breweries that frequently comes wafting over the city. It actually means "Old Smokey" and refers to the belching smoke from all the chimneys that used to choke the skies of the city.

Now since the smokeless fuel enforcement has cleared the skies I prefer the common reference to the "reek" that comes wafting across from the breweries in the city.

I actually like the smell of brewing beer.

Well, there is one less brewery in the city these days. McEwans closed down a few years ago and the final stages of demolition are underway.

Walked past the demolition in progress this morning and joined a few shots together including a wee attempt at a multiple exposure to catch some of the action.

Time stands still for now man.
