Joshua Watson meets the Archbishop

Today a service was held in York Minster as part of this year marking 200 years of church schools. My friend Rob was playing the part of Joshua Watson, founder of the national society; a performance nowhere near as camp as this picture suggests.

Over 1200 children came to the Minster, just a few from each of the church schools in the Diocese of York. After the service there were workshops with different organisations around the city, and a few in the Minster.

As I was packing away the sound system, it was great to watch some of the children being given a tour of the Minster; especially the youngest who were clearly amazed at the building. It's easy to lose that sense of amazement at things. We should try not to.
