hannaheno's daily lives

Fetch the ambulance!

Today was our University 'Community Open Day', where the local (and sometimes not so local) residents have the opportunity to come on to campus and take part in activities, some of which explain what we do there. For example, baby gym (the Psychology Department's observational studio for baby behaviour), the new technology of touch tables (visualising heritage and arts), calligraphy with quill pens (showcasing some of our special collections dating from the 6th century) and so on.

My role today was to take photos of dads with their children (for Father's Day of course) and it was great fun - but full on. We think we had about 11,000 visitors on campus so there were a fair few queues including for photos. I got a few crackers (kids are great with props) but not having asked if I could make them public, here for your interest are some 'wounds' created by our History of Medicine academic, who recreates plague, leprosy and other conditions for TV and teaching.

Pretty realistic!!
