Seemed like an appropriate day to feature Mr.Colin Mortlock- Wise Old Man, General Guru, Mad Adventurer, Ridiculously Expert Climber and Kayaker, Man on a Mission to save the world, Grumps to the grandkids and Dad to me.....Happy Father's Day xxx

PS Only my sister Senja (via Facebook) will understand the title of this blip straight away...Dad's initials - CJM - have forever been emblazoned on endless bags of outdoor equipment, plastic mugs (with handles sawn off to save half an ounce), lightweight spectacle cases, maps, food containers....usually written in thick indellible marker pen and accompanied with a flash of illuminous orange sticker (easy to spot in a dark tent or left at a summit). Whenever I see those letters it reminds me so much of being little and venturing into dad's camp store to find age-old mars bars as a treat. On a sadder note, all mum's items were labelled A.J.M in exactly the same manner...they still pop up every now and then and make me happy and sad at the same time.
