Bath time

I'm lucky enough to live quite close to one of Edinburgh's gems - the Warrender Baths in Marchmont. It's a splendid reminder of Victorian architecture and engineering (note to self: check it's actually Victorian).

There is even a posh moisturiser dispenser in the Gents toilet. How's that for a touch of class? Glad my council tax is going to a worthy cause.

Here's also where my little lad learned to swim today and where I hope to eventually swim all by myself now that I don't have to hold onto him.

Who knows - maybe I can regain the stunning form that took me to third place in the Forth Valley 200m breast-stroke in 1985 - a claim that even the great Michael Phelps cannot make...
