Sunday: Wilanow Palace

Last day in Warsaw - we had to leave for the airport late afternoon but managed to still make the most of the day.

We went to a Chopin concert in the park in the morning - but, lest you think I am more cultured than I am, we did wander off after two nocturnes, a sonata and an etude.........

We then caught the bus to the Wilanow Palace which is the splendid yellow beauty you see here.  We also spotted a celebrity here in the form of Gillian McKeith - goodness knows how she is coping with the excess of dumplings in Warsaw (for overseas readers - Gillian McKeith is a TV nutritionist....of an extreme nature - she would have everyone eating nothing but grass and milk thistle).

Do you want to know one of the things I really liked about Warsaw, apart from how attractive it is?  Sure, you see people with mobile phones, but there is not the overriding obsession that you get here in the UK.  There isn't this sense of constant texting, having personal conversations on the buses etc.  I really liked that.  Mobile phones in Warsaw seem to know their place.

I did want to post a picture of a red squirrel, of which there are plenty in Poland, but the little tyke came out a bit too fuzzy.....
