Great Green Bush cricket

Great Green Bush Cricket "Tettigonia viridissima"

Well it's my day off today and I have spent some quality time with Levi this morning, Then went to have coffee with my mum at Costa as i left the house Levi was looking out the window, not so happy to be left behind. I did some shopping in town for Levi and got him some new toys for him to play with a rabbit, cow and squrriel which he loves and has been charging around the house with. After lunch it was time to take Levi to the vets (its Ok he loves them all there) to have his first ever professional luxury groom, I have to say he seems to be happy..
Once he was away I took the opportunity to take some photographs. Here is real little beast with a nasty bite if you get your hands too close! None the less, a beautiful creature, Although large insects their green colouring makes them difficult to spot but if you have good hearing then you will be able to pick up their 'loud' bell-like strokes or beats, It is probably the loudest insect song in Britain. This species is nationally scarce but not protected by legislation.
I found this one in my garden, lucky me.

I have another shot of the little beast on flickr www.flickr.com/photos/cheralyn-owens/
