Dallas Omni Hotel and Dallas Morning News Building

It has been some time since I rode the commuter train all the way into downtown Dallas. The Omni Hotel is the latest building to be constructed there and opened in the last few months. It is a pretty addition to the Dallas skyline. Next to it is the offices of the Dallas Morning News. This is the largest paper in the area. They are owned by Belo Corporation which also owns our ABC affiliate station amongst other newspaper, TV and radio interests around the United States.

Again, I was looking for something to shoot waiting for the light rail to keep my mind off my friend's death. A bunch of us homebrewers met last night to talk about what we could do to help. His wife came to our meeting. We know her well and is a pretty good brewer in her own right. Tearful hugs. Tearful toasts. Funny stories of better times. Nothing really accomplished except she knows she is loved. We were again reminded that life is short and the end comes when it comes. So you better use whatever time is left well. I still hurt today. Less today than yesterday. That is good. But may I never completely quit hurting.
