Out of a heap a sand a statue is built that will stand for a fortnight in the city centre of The Hague being there because of the coming event of Veterans'Day. Time and again I'm surprised by the sculptors art to make images out of a heap of sand!

The Veterans' Day to come is a new annual happening since 2005. In order to pay respects to our nations' peacekeepers (and warriors) this event is invented in the city with our Houses of Parliament. The Liberators of WW II are few in their numbers now and eversince also the dutch troops served on foreign battlefields and this is a day for them to present themselves to the nation, governors and royals.
It all is not really my cup of tea, but the sand statue I did marvel today.
