Do these count as wild flowers if the farmer has sown the seeds? The Poppies are common enough wild flowers in these parts, as were some others that are out of view. I haven't seen those yellow flowers around here, and after a look through my book, I failed to identify them.
I've noticed a few of these sown strips of flowers recently. Undoubtedly there's some subsidy, or other form of funding, for growing them. Attractive, yes... especially to bees etc. But I'm a bit wary of introducing species into areas where they weren't before. There's a small strip of field near here that has loads of blue cornflowers growing in it. Lovely, but not something I can recall seeing growing wild in Scotland.
