0-6-0

It sounds as though I know what I'm doing with the train stuff but I really don't; I've seen them all a good few times while waiting for Cal and the technical stuff is from books or the web. Anyways - this is an Austerity 0-6-0 saddle tank. This family of engines was built during and after the war for shunting duties for the War Department. After D-Day some were shipped to Europe and North Africa for use at military sites. This one carries the name "Holman F Stevens" after the man helped build and manage the line which became the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

History lesson over now! Enjoy your Saturday evening :-)
