Marbled White

My daughter finishes her GCSEs next week and is then off on a charity walk from the Lake District back to Sussex. Today we had one of her 'training walks' along the South Downs and around one of the south facing dry valleys. There were lots of butterflies around, painted lady, small tortoiseshell, red admiral, peacock, skippers, dark green fritillaries .... but all outnumbered by the marbled whites feeding on knapweed.
