An Old Airman's Life

Hat and Man Purse

Getting ready to go on my last Sunday Night Rider ride. Here is my hat that our daughter made for me for Father's Day. It has been quite a hit amongst my rider friends. And below that is my black man's purse. I keep everything that is not supposed to get soaked in sweat inside that. Maybe it is because I am such a pack rat, but I am jealous of women's purses. They can carry all kinds of stuff. Stuff that is useful. Stuff that can't be used in a 1,000 years except having it at hand is a comfort. Just now I remembered Monty Hall as the host of Let's Make a Deal. He would come up to a woman and offer her a sum of money for each of an item she had in the purse.

Anyhow, I digress. This Thursday morning, I will be getting my new nose. I am not sure what it will look like. I just hope that it doesn't fall off. This crooked thing has been such a leading part of my life for so long, I wonder if it will be worth losing. My wife suggested that I take a series of pics as it goes from its current curly, bumpy state to movie star quality. So you all might get a chance to follow its course of travel. Or again, I might not subject you such a sight.
