Hängebrücke

Linking the areas of Belalp and Riederfurka, this slender walkway spans 400 feet across the Massa Gorge, through which the meltwaters of the Aletsch Glacier cascade down towards the Rhone River, some 7 miles to the south. The bridge is 4 feet wide and hangs 270 feet above the churning waters. Think that is hairy? Try the walkway which leads along a cliff-face a bit further on: that is a log, suspended on chains.
