Grand Canyon Trek

I told you today would be a long day but i had no idea today would present me with the hardest physical challenge I have ever since and this is including the egg and spoon race in primary School!

The day began at 5am, and before any smart ass pipes up this was not the challenge, we headed to the canyon to watch the sunrise which was special!

However we then set out on a 12 mile hike down to the bottom of the canyon and up again, the picture was taken at the bottom and the canyon you can see is what we hiked up!

This was horrible, boiling sun, warm water and hot sandwich's to keep us going at no point did i enjoy this! one women finished in 7.5 hours she is Jenine the machine, i finished it 8.5 hours 3 more ladies finished it in 10.5 hours and then 3 more finished it 11.5, this hike we only found out has killed 250 people in the last 50 years!!

If you are going to the grand canyon enjoy the views but stay clear of bright angels hike, it is a killer literally! xx
